Artist description
The genre of soul music usually conjures up images of a church revival with gospel and R & B artists who use their music to inspire others. To the five young men of d/f/w, soul music is music by the soul and for the soul. Their mission is as much as to create and play music, as it is to create and give music. With roots in blues, classic and modern rock, and alt-country d/f/w has a broad trans-genre sound that does not betray their blues and classic rock stomping grounds, d/f/w can give their music to a widely diverse audience.
d/f/w is as much about the individual band members as it is about the whole group. Night in and night out the rock solid drumming of Darren Foster coupled with the inventive bass playing of Derek Shipley provides a clever, dynamic, and tasteful foundation that is the cornerstone of the band’s sound. The impeccable musical talent of Nathan Dugger allows him to play guitar as well as keyboards with soulful creativity. The additional guitar duties are covered by the bluesy and lyrical style of Joel Dugger. Principle songwriter Sam Ward brings it all together with uncanny stage presence and vocal ability.
With an emphasis on live performance, d/f/w is ready to take the music business by storm. No gimmicks, just five guys made to make music together.
