    Artist History
As a free-lance edutainer, Sheila has produced and performed her one Woman shows using jazz and storytelling as the primary medium of expression. Such pieces includes, "The Conjure Woman", "NIA", "Robert Remembers Sassy", and "Fairytales". She also developed and formatted a WGFT radio talk show titled FOCUS ON THE WOMAN (Youngstown, Ohio). As for movie credits, MS.Hayes debuted in a local movie titled "A LIFE WORTH LIVING", written and directed by Mr. D. Kroner. As a jazz vocalist, Sheila has had the pleasure of opening for Marion Meadows along with Sean Jones, (Trumpter, Dana Graduate) Shedrick Hobbs,(veteran jazz percussionist) Jeff Bremer,(Acoustic Bassist, Dana Graduate) and Joe Kaplowitz,(jazz pianist, Dana Graduate) Her one woman shows were performed before Iyanla Vanzant, noted world renowned author and lecturer. Also, Sheila was a contestant on BET via video, with Shedrick Hobbs, Jeff Bremer and Joe Kaplowitz of which she won for her week. From her first CD project titled, "Sheila Hayes & Company LIVE!" proceeds were donated to the Battered Women's Shelters. She wrote the tune "Uncle Raspus" which honors the memory of her late grandfather John Elmer Akins, with pianist Joe Kaplowitz. Many who have heard this tune are also reminded of fond childhood memories of their grandfathers. Daryl Alexander, Sr. of DAP Entertainment has teamed with Ms. Hayes on her second CD. The single titled "Take A Chance" has received rave reviews from radio audiences,(Mr. Lucky, 102jamz). This is the lyrical version of Mr. Alexanders' instrumental version "Let's Take A Chance" from his "Tea For Two" CD. While many artist set their sights on performing within the spectrum of the rainbow, the repertoire of hues which colours Ms. Hayes' critical artistry has been more centrally located. Through the miracle of the internet Ms. Hayes can now reach for sun, the moon, the stars, and the hearts of those who have been touched by lyrical music. Her mission is to bring healing to wounded hearts from broken promises of love and to restore the love that lasts, unconditionally............
