Artist description
LiveCoal is an indie-rock band based in Peoria, IL. They perform mostly originals with the exception of a handful of covers (done LC style) to custom fit their sound.
The line-up consists of five skilled and experienced musicians from a variety of backgrounds. LC handles it's diversity as a strength, with the ability to play in the corner of a coffee house or share a main stage with the area's best.
The sound? We'll let you be the judge. Some of the locals have called it Dave Matthews with distortion. I don't know about all o' that, but its heavy groove w/ a punch. Some of their other influences include Radiohead, Incubus, King's X, and Foo Fighters.
LiveCoal just released a new e.p. titled OPTIMISERY which is available now. The title is taken from the content of the first single "Pretty Things". It is written about people who refuse to grip the cold, hard realities that life sometimes serves up.
It is one thing to keep a positive attitude in all situations... it is quite another to pretend that the "bad" things in life do not exist, which ultimately robs that person the opportunity to be stretched and learn from that situation.
