Artist History
khasma formed as a purely improvisational experiment at the 2001 Birmingham Improv Festival. Zack Walker and Hunter Bell had jammed together in various settings for years, but neither had ever played music with Dennis McKitrick. Upon their gathering onstage, they just went for it. Using ambient keys, Dennis set the tone. Zack cranked out tribal rhythms while Hunter looped percussion and spoken word through an effects processor. The performance resulted in a standing ovation. Thus on the stage khasma was born.
Scooter Atkerson has joined khasma on bass guitar and spacey effects. |
