Artist History
Created on March 17, 2001, Brother Mustard was founded by
John Walsh and Keith Strausman. We recruited Alan Peters
as the lead singer and rhythm guitarist, while John persued
lead guitar. After some time of playing together throughout
the summer of 2001, lead guitarist Chris Smith joined the band,
(thanks to Dennis Eagen)
and John moved off of lead, to rhythm and Alan became stricly vocals.
The band rehersed and played for months until the first gig at
the Hightstown High School Battle of the Bands. Brother Mustard,
or BroMust, for short was critically acclaimed by the Ram Page (School
Newspaper)(but not really, as the paper was unduly biased by rhe pro-punk rock editors)
for playing a lively, eclectic set. The next night,
the band tore the house down at the HHS Talent Show.(true 'nuff)
Alan Peters seperated ways with the band in the summer of
2002.(although the occasional jam is always possible) John moved on to lead vocals, filling the
frontman spot. Percussionist Jon Fisk also joined the band
on hand percussion. This year, on the day that the talent show was held (the writer doesnt remember)
Brother Mustard won best band.
The band has been recording in John's basement, and these
"basement" sessions are now being released. Some of the mp3's
are now on this website. For info/contact send mail to
Duff724@comcast.net (John Walsh).
Thanks to all of our friends and family and the "road crew" ha.
Love ya lots.
In September of 2003, Brother Mustard decided to just relax,
an finish off their humble career with the last two gigs,
one being the Hightstown High School Talent show,
and the other being the Highstown High School Battle of the
Bands, where it all started out. E-Mail us for more information.
Also, John Walsh and Chris Smith now perform weekly at the
Slowdown Cafe in downtown Highstown, New Jersey. After they finish
recording an EP in Philadelphia, they duo plans to take it out
and look around for gigs where ever an acoustic duo is needed.
Keep and eye out, and check back for BRAND NEW MP3's FROM JOHN WALSH
