A completely new name to me, Addzi appeared on these boards a couple of weeks ago asking for a review, so how could I refuse? Besides, anyone who knows me know I love the taste of newbie meat....mmmmmmmm O. mi. God. You are not going to believe this. What about a softer Venomous MC? That is what you are going to hear if you grab this track, and you REALLY, REALLY should grab this track. I want to write fecking brilliant, but that won't tell you a lot. As I say, there are many shades of our favourite bad boy here, but don't let that fool you, Addzi is definitely his own geezer and what a geezer that is. Where Venomous delivers lyrics that tell a message, so does Addzi, but with a much subtler, richer subtext. If you remember a while back when I reviewed Spiral Lounge's 'Coming Out' and I stressed how much of a ground breaking track it was, this track by Addzi is well up there in those stakes too. SL (and Davey boy) carved themselves a spot in my MP3 collection right there, and I've been keeping an eye out for him ever since. I'm going to be keeping beady eye on this guy too now. The music that Addzi uses to back his wistful rapping is, I'm fairly sure, Ejay samples with maybe a couple of other things thrown in for good measure. It's a very workmanlike musical mix, giving the rap the room it needs to breathe, unobtrusively pinning down the rhythm flawlessly. This is a major find, me mateys, and you KNOW I am not saying that lightly. Welcome to the forums Addzi, and long may you hang around because if this is an indication of what you have to offer us, we are in for one hell of a ride. Gobsmacked, that's the word...
