Artist History
Perigee/Apogee is a melodic rock core band out of Omaha, Nebraska comprised of 5 young members with the same vision: Make great music and make this band their lives. After their previous regional bands failed, or just weren't going anywhere, Chris and a friend John decided to start a band that wasn't so hardcore. So they called up Matt and Dirk and they all jammed. Pat came to a practice and after that John decided he didn't want to do it anymore. After writing a few good songs, Josh was brought in and they now have a solid line up, with even more solid songs. After recording a surprising 3 song demo, they started to catch some peoples interest. At a recent live performance, everyone saw what Perigee/Apogee has to offer with a live show. Raw powerful emotion, heartfelt singing, front flips, mosh pits and a great time. The crowd was left in awe of the band and what they just showed them. The band handed out about 50 demo's in about 3 minutes. After seeing what they had to offer to people, they all knew in each others hearts it was time to do something about this. Armed with a solid arsenal of melodic, heavy, emotional songs, they are ready to take their performance to the next level and show everyone what they can do. The band is currently writing songs for their upcoming album they hope to be due out by summer time and preparing for a tour over the summer time also. Perigee/Apogee is looking to take their music past a local caliber sound and to a national level. So with nothing to lose and the world at their feet, they are looking to show anyone, anywhere what they can do.

Press Reviews
Today(Sunday, Jan. 19th, 2003) a kid in a band called Perigee Apogee e-mailed me asking about getting reviewed on my website so I downloaded the songs off there demo and found them to be really good. They kept me listening anyway. I normally wouldn't review someone as fast but I dug the tunes and they deffantly need exposure to the max. After visiting there website I found out the group was from Omaha, Nebraska. They just formed this summer from the ashes of a few local bands that have broken up. To sum up the bands sound they are labeled as a metalcore act on mp3.com.
The first track off the demo is called, "Forever Come and Go". The track has an emo/punk vibe that I feel doesn't represent there sound well as a whole. The last minute or so has a fair amount of screaming in between the grinding riffs and slamming percussion.
The second track off the demo is called, "Five: Seventeen". As I progress throughout the song it began to remind me of Thursday because of the way the screaming over the singing is. The song is very melodic most of the way though it and then the breakdown kicks in just when I thought the song was going to end. The singing in itself reminds me a little bit of Brandon Boyd from Incubus in this track.
The last track on the demo is called "A Taste of Irony", the song opens with some rapid screaming. Then transfers into there signature singing. I fell this track is probably the track that represents themselves as a band probably the most because it covers everything pretty much equally that the group does in the other songs.
Overall, the band put together a pretty damn good demo. With only being together for a few months imagine what they could do in a few years. Do yourself a favor if your a fan of Incubus, Poison The Well, Finch, or Thursday and check these guys out at http://www.perigeeapogee.com/.
