Artist description
For what may be the most straight forward music ever created, rock and roll is among the most complex to define. The sound of Life Itself is an amalgamation of the musical forms that embrace rock and roll. Positioned somewhere between coarse and calm, Life Itself is a response to the divisions that the words 'rock and roll' impart. While people are having a free-for-all deciding whether a band has enough grit to be considered basement rock or enough twang for garage rock, Life Itself brings you back home to your favorite place. It has soul. It has rhythm. It has verve.

Artist History
There was no other path for Richie Galdieri, composer and vocalist for the New Jersey-based band, Life Itself. "I don't remember ever making a conscious decision to pursue music. It just seemed to be the only thing I would do." Drawing on varied influences that run the gamut from R&B to classical to metal, Richie has written and produced passionate and abrasive songs. The lyrical content of Life Itself's music ranges from questions of character to the frustrations of second guessing. With guitars that bound, drums that resonate, and keyboards that navigate, Richie's velvet voice weaves it together by dragging and sticking to every lick.
Life Itself has become the dwelling where Richie envisioned his music would reside. He has worked the NYC circuit for years impressing people whenever he played. Eventually, he received a call from a friend who connected him with the L.A. rock group Zenboy - a project spearheaded by Eddie Van Halen. Richie became the lead singer for the group. He found himself opening shows for his childhood idols and spending everyday at the renowned 5150 studios. "It was surreal. One day, I was pulling my hair out trying to figure out Van Halen's guitar solos; the next day I was shooting basketball with the whole band at their studio."
Richie used this experience to learn all he could about audio engineering and music production. He was surrounded by the best in the business including the late Bruce Fairbairn, Mike Fraser, Mike Plotnikoff, and Andy Johns. When he returned to the NYC area, he assembled his own state of the art recording studio which would allow him to write, record, and produce music the way he wanted - without limitations.
Bringing together some of the best musicians in the NYC area, Richie has assembled a band that plays for the songs - musicians who are aware of the big picture. Life Itself remains conscious to the ever changing desires of the music, even performing acoustic shows to further their momentum.
In many ways, Life Itself is the only name for this band with its deep musical roots and true passion for the song. "I think it allows me to communicate something above and beyond what I can in real life," says Richie. "It's so clear to me. There's no cover. It's all right out there. No bullshit. No reservations. No insecurity. No inhibition. I can't hide." Life Itself.
