Artist description
ACIDSTAR is an all-female band hailing from the depths of the San Gabriel Valley area with Michelle leading on guitar/vocals, Margaret on drums, and Virginia on bass/ vocals. Their music is comprised of punk rock elements with an alternative twist, and is often described as a combination of such highly influential bands, The Breeders, Sleater Kinney, and The Ramones. Although the members of ACIDSTAR have a great admiration for female musicians, their influences are NOT limited to only “all-girl bands”, but also include various musical ensembles like the Ramones, The Cure, The Smashing Pumpkins, Bad Religion, Garbage, and The Get Up Kids… including several local bands.
Each member of the band contributes her own unique musical background into the composition of every song, thus catapulting ACIDSTAR into a genre of their own, and evolving themselves from the generic categories of punk rock. If you attend an ACIDSTAR show, you cannot deny their apparent passion for music. They fully dedicate themselves to performing, and continue to gain more support from their devoted audiences.
Slowly but surely, ACIDSTAR is making their presence known with their elaborately crafted guitar solos, heavy bass lines, pulsating drum beats, and melodic harmonies. ACIDSTAR will certainly leave a lasting impression on their audience…
…With that said and done, be on the lookout for ACIDSTAR!
