Artist History
In Summer 2001, Francois Gagné (Guitar and Vocals) and Maxime Harvey (Guitar) got back together again after a short hiatus following the break-up of their previous band From Grass to Cheese. Their friend, David Gagnon (Bass), soon joined them. Together, they created and recorded new songs but we have to wait for fall 2001 to see Sebastien Thibault (Drums) join the band that would become THE AWARDS.
From that point, THE AWARDS could play live and deploy their energies to get things going. This process led to the presentation of their first show in December 2001 in their hometown, Quebec City. Their tragic, tormented and energy-filled music; influenced by bands such as Weezer, Jimmy Eat World and The Get Up Kids is guaranteed to hook you up.
