Artist History
I grew up in Bass Lake, a small town just below Yosemite National Park in California. I began writing when I was 7 or 8. I sang one of my first songs in 4th grade… I remember being on stage sitting on a stool so tall that my feet didn’t’ touch the floor. I sang the song acapella. It was an amazing charge. I still remember the tune, it was called “Snow” Very appropriate now that I’m living in Maine.
Then I saw Elvis with my mom when I was 11 in 1972 and from then on I knew I wanted to sing and write.
When I was 18 I moved to LA but ended up getting married instead of following music. That’s how I ended up in Maine. We were young and we grew apart, but music was my light.
I sang at open mic nights, met as many local musicians I could and then got a gig with a country band, singing at every grange hall across Maine and New Hampshire. That was a blast!
In 1992 I started writing my own music again with a duo partner and guitarist, Tom O’Brien. We played together for 7 years and released One of A Kind in 1995.
With Alabama Blood, I’m touring primarily in the Northeast. I hope to get out west to combine some skiing and music sometime this year.
Please let me know how you like the music! My new website should be up in February! Look for it on Roscorecords.com.

Press Reviews
Chris Darling, WMPG "Us Folk" hosted Elizabeth on his show on August 2nd, 2002. "Maine based singer-songwriter, Elizabeth Ross, ...Performing songs from her Fresh new album "ALABAMA BLOOD." The album made it's premiere with the local radio (& internet ) waves right here on Us Folk. We've heard it & it's great, ...this one's going to get some national, even international, air for sure!"
=============================
"(Alabama Blood) plays to Ross' strengths of gritty, southern scorched melodies. Tunes like Alabama Blood, Carnival Wife and Truck jump out at you..." Ben Monaghan, Portland Press Herald 10/03/02.
