Artist History Nathan Blackstone, Tony Lucido and Brad Lyons had no choice but to form the new Nashville based musical curiosity, Friz. They were unemployed tour musicians with a relentless addiction to the road. After years of pouring out their time and talents to other bands and coming up empty handed, they finally realized what they were looking for was right in front of them. Since their live debut in the summer of 2002, Friz is shaping up to be a popular live band in a city saturated with music critics. They have the potential to break new ground and leave a permanent mark in music. Their musician and industry friends faithfully turn up at shows, not for networking purposes, but for the sheer enjoyment of the performance. Their sound has been described as accessible melodic rock with a sinister twist. Though a few of the songs like “Sophia”, “Supermodel Baby” and the memorable “I Hate Your Girlfriend” are a vengeful response to failed relationships, it is the female demographic that seem to find Friz irresistible. This irony combined with bad ass stage attitude often result in people leaving Friz shows singing their songs.
