Artist History
Aja Kim hails from the City of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia. Now based in Los Angeles, she creates a sensation with every appearance on the local and national club scene. Her vocal talents led her to rock and roll saxman, Clarence Clemons (of Bruce Springsteen's "E" Street Band) and a Japanese Cd release: Aja and the Big Man-"Get It On". Not just a showcase for Aja's pipes, her songwriting talents were also featured on three songs she co-wrote with bassist Lynn Woolever: "Rain", "Woman Of The World", and "You Can't Hurt Me".
Recently, The Aja Kim Band opened for famed Latin percussionist, Pete Escovedo, at the Japanese American Cultural Theater in Los Angeles, where Master of Ceremonies, George Takei (Mr. Sulu of Star Trek) pronounced her performance "electrifying!" In addition to fronting her own band, she also currently tours with legendary Tower of Power funk guitarist, Bruce Conte. Not just in demand in the studio, she has performed in music videos, as well as film and commercials. Her music can be heard in the HBO film "Private Wars". |
