Artist description State Champions bring a not so conventional sound of punk, ska and jazz to the table with some rythmic and powerfull guitar lines and horn lines. As band members in highschool, each member of State Champions were trained in music.

Artist History As Abel was getting in to trouble at his high school, he was transferred to the high school of Robert and Christian where the all met in band class when they began to jam together but nothing came of it until one day Christian was invited to participate in a band that Abel was starting with Jake, Conner and Edmund. Christian was reluctant to join a band without his buddy Robert, so they allowed Robert to sit in for the day and play drums for the absent drummer. After a progressive practice, Christian was in the band, and due to Roberts ability to pick up fast and cause he made the other drummer seem awful, the old drummer was given the boot and Robert was invited to join the band. Now with the original band together, (minus Joel and plus another person we decline to mention) they played a few shows, but were never truly happy with the arrangements. Unfortunately they had to give their original lead singer the boot after countless acts of stupidity. Abel (the guitarist) took over singing permanently and the addition of Joel to take over the lead guitars was a great thing. After his departure, did State Champions become a working band. Things went smoother without our "Extra Baggage" know as our ex singer. In the summer of 2000, the true State Champion sound was born. Hailing from Pomona California, Chino and Diamond Bar, the seven of them worked no stop to get a local following. State Champions have played all over southern California and with such bands as most local bands as well as Code Name Rocky, Rx Bandits, Lawrence Arms, Slick Shoes, Audio Karate and others.True band nerds at heart every person in State Champions participated in their High Schools marching and Field Show bands.
