Artist History
Picture this: Appollo theatre-like atmosphere. A crowd of exhuberant rap lovers. Two white guys with an electric guitar and a set of drums on stage. After bagging a couple of groupies after the show, the two realized that if they can play hard rock beats for a rap show and get away with it then they can play anywhere. After touring extensively with the Monsters of Mid-Rock in 1996, they realized they needed a bass player and a lead singer. A two man band could only go so far. Little did they know that when the found their new singer they would plunge further into the abysmal depths of mediocrity. Steve Holt, founding father of Cinestro, states "Someday, we will be able to open for such acts as 'A Familiar Blue' and 'Duhnamis' but until then we are relegated to pound out songs in my basement until a proper replacement for our singer is found." His interests include watching re-runs of The Golden Girls and drinking straight vodka mash from a rusty tin of Crisco. Chris White a.k.a. "King of Sling" is also a founding father of Cinestro. In his sparetime you can find him collecting New Kids on the Block pillowcases and toasting the town with his new still that he purchased from Jack Daniel's great-grandson at a yard sale in Clay County, Kentucky. The sleazeball they picked up to hum a few bars on their songs, Mr. K, spends most of his time checking the VIN numbers on all 1988 Ford Escorts. He is still looking for the bastards who stole the love of his life (1988 Ford Escort...with a creamy off white paint job and primered flames around the wheel wells) and make all due payments on their bodies with his fists. Besides that, in their sparetime Cinestro finds about 5 minutes each week to jam around on some instruments and talk like Al Pacino until the beer runs out. We are currently waiting for Aerosmith to return our calls. We want them to open for us on our upcoming World Tour.
