Artist History
Ruben Carr a.k.a. DJ Darky, was introduced to electronic music by his good friend Javi Air, and fell in love with it from that day on. He began his djing career in 1998 in Los Angeles spinning @ legendary Ambrosia and Blue sky monthly desert gatherings, from then on Darky became the fastest rising star in the music industry!
In 1999, he opened the DHV record store. It was the only record store in Los Angeles which specialized in trance music alone. Running the record store and the DHV Record label with his partner and long time best friend HP, he still managed to play around the clock 8 to 10 gigs a month in the USA and Europe.
In the beginning of 2000, he joined Angel Booking, which is one of the most respected booking agencies in the world with the biggest live acts and DJ's. Shortly after, he went onto North American Angel 2000 tour.
In the fall of 2000 he started studio work with label mates HP, Goose and LCM!, producing songs such as "Tear Drops" and "Pensamiento Progresivo", soon after, these tracks were released in an album titled ECHO published under the DHV Records. This album was featured on Groove Radio for well over 6 months, and received the highest ever rating of 9.20 on Trance Addict.
Darky was featured as the "Artist of the month" at San Francisco's Underground Source, Hollywood's "RaversGuied", Interviewed by "Insider" magazine, Where@ magazine, Rave Nation, Rave One, Rave Information, and many more. Just like Intrance productions commented "Being one of Los Angeles's finest DJ's, DJ Darky has risen on the dance music chart, being a KEY element to any good party" --- "started his DJ career in 1998 and now, Darky is one of the most respected and sought-after Deejays in the Nation" Global Groovin magazine.
Darky has shared his unique mixing style with DJ's and Live acts such as BT, Sven Veth, Pascal F.E.O.S. Andy Hughes from ORB, Christopher Lawrence, Sandra Collins, Taylor, just to name a few. He has preformed at every corner of the world, from Russia to South America, Japan to Hawaii, Hollywood to Arizona, Washington to Colorado, Texas to Mexico and the list goes on.
