    Artist description
Justine's lyrics are autobiographical, humorous, blunt and to the point. Inspired by the mundane, everyday trivialities such as pushing the pram and dodging wheelie bins.
    Artist History
Justine initially formed Fat Rhino in 1998 churning out chunky beats powerful enough to match Justine's delicate yet assertive vocals. Fat Rhino featured: Justine on vocals and acoustic guitar; Mark Dalton on keyboards, loops and samples; Matt Waddell on Bass, Lead guitar, loops and samples and a later addition was Darren Dumbleton on drums giving a more organic sound to challenge the electricity… Fat Rhino's shows were highly energetic. Far from homogenous, crowd's were treated to trip-hop & blues to drum and bass whilst Justine carried the audience with bizarre lyrics about deception, disaster junkies and trustafarians. Fat Rhino's popularity landed them a support slot for Mint Royale and even brought them to South Korea, twice. Justine, who is hooked on writing new material ventured down local pubs with an acoustic guitar in tow to try them out. Acoustically, the songs were equally successful and Justine subsequently supported Tom Hingley (Inspiral Carpets) with her solo set. Due to demand, Justine committed herself to recording an acoustic EP release which reared its head in 2002 titled Acoustic Nerve. Not content for the expected, Justine invited Joe O'Donnell to add fiddle. Piano and bass was also laid down by Fat Rhino members Mark Dalton and Matt Waddell respectively. Lyrically just as dramatic as Fat Rhino, confronting real issues with some humour thrown in. Well, if you can't laugh, why bother? Justine, keen on experimenting has collaborated with other artists quite different to Fat Rhino. She has been invited as a guest artist by Caryn Simmons, Sea Of Wires and Monkey Boy
    Press Reviews
"In the space of three songs she can take you from cutting reality to hilarious absurdity past every emotion in-between. Add to that an amazing flair for some brilliant guitar work and you have a real star in the making. Don't miss her!" Phil Garvey - Whittfest 2001
