Artist History
I played my first solo gig in 1987. Since then, I've played with a number of folks including Elliot Smith, Ben Lee, John Doe (X), Ween, Chris Stills, Dr. Frank (from Mr. T Experience), Pete Krebs and a number of others. My main gig is lead singer/songwriter in the hardcore band, 7Seconds. We have umpteen records out and have toured all over the world. I also sing and play in a band called Go National. We have a CD out as well. |

Press Reviews
Kevin Seconds 'Stoudamire' (Earth Music/Cargo)Everything I've heard by Seconds has been top-notch, the work of a man with a natural talent.Stoudamire continues that tradition with a large number of tracks that feel more like revealed diary entries than something recorded with the intention of making a big deal about it. Seconds is one of the few musicians I know of who can produce an individual and recognizable style to their music without resorting to any particular instrumentation or sound. The hooks are access-ible yet unique, and the lyrics are those of someone who thinks a lot about a lot of things; though I hesitate to call Stoudamire intimate, I'd have to say that it's extremely personal, like having an interesting and deep conversation with a close friend.Albums like Stoudamire, whose appeal is so universal that I find myself listening to them over and over despite the fact that I have about thirty other records to listen to and review, arerare but always welcome. If you can appreciate the work of a man and a guitar, you'll definitelyenjoy this.----Ian Koss, Ink Nineteen, March 1998.............What makes KEVIN so good is his ability totransform from raging punk to humble acousticstreet musician without giving up any intensity.I've seen KEVIN play with his old punk band 7SECONDS, his new rock band GO NATIONAL, andby himself. In each instance, he has captured hisauience with passion, humor, and intelligence. Hesings a lot about his wife Allyson (also theguitarist for GO NATIONAL) and his travails livingin Sacramento. The man is just good. Check him out solo or in his band GO NATIONAL. Either way, you will be treated to excellent songwriting and splendid music. -- Bob McClenahan, MTV Online, July 6, 1998 |
