Artist History
"Groove's Back Productions" started back in 1994 as "Groove & the Man" with Robert Hall and Reginald K. Son. We had much fun while staying up all hours of the night, dealing with record labels that had no clue and generally wasting away due to lack of nourishment. However, the eventual need for food and shelter brought us back into the "real world" and we found we needed to get "real" jobs. When it all faded in/around 1997 we took some time apart and got our lives together. In 1999 I decided to bring Groove back as "Groove's Back Productions". Although Robert and I are still friends, I remain solo for now and try to score tunes from the soul. "Groove's Back...Finally" is a reflection of the early/mid 90's with a couple of solo sessions from me. "The Spirit, The Woman, Some Songs" is a wide variety of songs coming from every part of my being. Some playful, some serious, some upbeat and some not, however, all heartfelt. I've always appreciated several styles of music and I think The Spirit, The Woman, Some Songs is a very good indication of that. So, while I'm not playing by anyone's rules for now, I will continue to create ceedees with various styles and tempos but always true to the Groove...Reginald K. Son |
