Artist History
During the 1980s, Diane Davis was a familiar face in Washington, D.C., appearing both as a solo actand with her trio in night clubs, restaurants, hotels, country clubs and private functions in Virginia, Maryland, and D.C. During that same period of time she was co-owner of a video production company and did voice-overs and commercial jingles, wrote and performed video sketch comedy, and appeared in training videos for a national trade association. In the early 1990s performing took a back seat as she began concentrating her efforts on songwriting and arranging. In the real world, Diane is with WDKN Radio (AM 1260) in Dickson, Tennessee, where she works on the air 6 days a week, hosting "On the Horizon", a live music and interview show featuring songwriters and upcoming artists, "The Bluegrass Breakfast Club" on Sunday mornings, and "Drive Time Deejays" all-request show, Monday through Thursday afternoons. ** Coming Fall 2002 - Diane is recording the BeeGees' classic "How Deep is Your Love" as part of a 25th Anniversary Tribute to Saturday Night Fever and disco music. The twist...it's all bluegrass! "Saturday Night Hayfever" will be available in November 2002 on Skipping Disks Records. You might even hear her on your local Americana station, as the CD has already been requested by over 50 radio stations in the US and Canada! ** Also in the works, a bluegrass gospel CD - Watch this space for more details! |

Press Reviews
"Diane Davis is a very polished songwriter" - Listen.comReview of "READY FOR YOU" by Ted Lehman/Randy Bishop: "Diane's Version - The most wonderfulpiece of this cover song is the clear, cleanand crisp sound of Diane Davis. Her vocalstake center stage with feeling and a hint ofsuggestive sensuality. This feels like charttopping R & B to this listener. The rhythmic beat is essential for the slowgroove being formed. Very danceable. At timesit is a little strong but the tinkle of theivory brings in a light hearted interweavingto the beat. The harmonies and other background vocals are superbly done andfinely mixed. They evoke images of multiplesingers grouped around a mic, singing soulfully. The female perspective on this song changesthe quality and tone dramatically. The differentperformances by Ted and Diane are directedat different audiences and slightly differentmoods. I believe they both work quite well. This is just a damn good tune and the artistssinging it are damn fine performers." - BANKERReview of "PRAY FOR RAIN" by Graham Andrews and Kay-lynn Carew: "Kicked my butt, girl! And for me that grand piano goes with your voice so beautifully I would take it with you everywhere you go if I were you" - R. Deaver |
