Artist History
Jonathan is a self-taught guitarist who has been playing for over 10 years, and has been performing professionally for over 4 years. He has had 6 television interviews and performances, and several radio appearances. He is also now scoring music for a series of relaxation videos. Jonathan has had successful performances throughout the Inland Northwest, including Spokane's Metropolitan Performing Arts Theatre, Riverfront Park, The Ridpath Hotel, numerous cafes, and many wonderful private events. He currently has 3 cds, and is working on the 4th album, "Sojourn", to be released by the end of the year. This will be the first album to be released under his real name Jonathan Nicholson, and not under his old stage name Calliope's Burden.
Jonathan was a member of the band the Righteous Corn Farmers and recorded the album Shush (afterwards some members went off to form the Fine Print and Jonathan went solo), and was also the principal songwriter and one half of the experimental duo Fall Walks (who has one 5-song album). He is currently looking at starting a new musical side project, and is looking for members. If interested, please contact Jonathan at jonnicholson@hotmail.com , or (509) 216-6029. |

Press Reviews
"Calliope's Burden makes sensitive, gossamer-delicate guitar instrumentals that invoke a more introspective, self-exploratory side of the human psyche." - Listen.com "Calliope's Burden is Jonathan Nicholson, who plays a first-rate guitar. A wonderful subdued acoustic foundation is topped by harmonics and sublime guitar licks... very well constructed..." - Gods Of Music.Com |
