Artist History At the beginning of the 2002 summer , Red Tide was simply an idea, but by the end, it was something that was certain to continue. After being inspired by such bands as Stellar, Blacklight Sunshine, Mandown, and Dashboard Confessional, actions were taken. Andrew Newton began spilling ideas, thoughts, and feelings onto paper at a rapid rate. With the help of close friend Joey Sochor (Stellar), these thoughts and ideas were transformed into simple yet heartfelt songs. After little practice, Andrew and Joey took their feelings and sang them to a small crowd in Grand Island, Nebraska for the first time. Since then, Red Tide has performed shows at various venues across the state of Nebraska for fans that appreciate true meanings and deep lyrics in their music. The short story for Red Tide is still in the making and the future is unkown, however, as long as support exists from you, the listener, there will always be a Red Tide.
