Artist History
Denton began playing guitar for country and rock bands in central Illinois bars and clubs at age 16, following a childhood dedicated to old-time/gospel music. After graduation from Millikin University in Decatur, Ill., he pursued a brief career as a journalist in
Washington D.C., before moving to Chicago to write, record and perform music. After working the Chicago club circuit and touring the Southwest with an evolving
lineup of musicians through the late '90s, Denton took a two-year break from performing
to develop a music store/theme restaurant. He is currently on a solo, acoustic tour of the Southwest and West Coast regions, promoting
his "Stone Soup" CD. Longtime drummer Adam Benner will be joining Denton in Santa Cruz, CA early in 2003. Santa Cruz is Denton's new West Coast home base. He will tour throughout the U.S. in 2003 and finish recording tracks for his third disc. |
