Artist description
From the depths of Central Florida has emerged a maniacal cast of characters focused on new ways of fusing progressive metal with hip-hop, hardcore, and funk. Since 1997, four musicians know as Local Porn Star, have been performing in front of large, energetic crowds throughout Florida and across the Eastern USA. In 1999, their relentless hard work and consistent touring netted them the award of Most Entertaining Live Show voted on by the readers of Florida Today Newspaper. In 2000, Local Porn Star landed a clothing sponsorship from Entropy Surfwear. In late 2001, the band released their self-produced, independently financed album, Electricity, which at the time of this writing has sold 750+ copies worldwide. In 2002, they formed B3 Records, an independent, music production and promotion group comprised of the three most prominent bands in Central Florida. This same year they were hand-picked to co-headline the Inverse Tour, a tour organized by Inverse-Music.com to showcase the best up-and-coming hard rock acts in the Southeast.

Group Members
Local Porn Stars musical unity lies in their diversity. Comprised of four members, Local Porn Star contains musicians from several backgrounds. Matt Favero, who contributes vocals, brings and old school hip-hop feel to his raps and a new school hardcore angle to his screams and tantrums. Ian Pravatas precision mastery of the hip-hop and progressive rock grooves continue to the blur the lines of musical genres. Brent Bradford brings an eerie feel with his spooky guitar riffs, which are an original crossbreed of many different influences, from the smooth Dave Matthews to the punk of Refused. Joining Local Porn Star in 2002 is local industrial music veteran, John Smink, who handles bass guitar duties. |
