Artist History
VocalArts Northwest was founded in 1998 by Elizabeth Moore, former Music Coordinator/Accompanist with Seattle Opera, and internationally known baritone, Erich Parce. Vocal Arts Northwest is a non-profit organization that takes pride in providing the highest possible level of operatic training to participants by arranging for teachers, coaches, and conductors who are, or have been, at the highest professional levels in the country. It is our mission to educate and train those who are pre-professional to the realities and expectations that the profession demands. Equally important, we stress the responsibility of touching the hearts of both our audiences and ourselves because our art is about human relations.
Throughout the year we offer three 8-week long Masterclass sessions that meet on Tuesday evenings to groups of 10-12 participants. Masterclass is designed for students at various levels in their training. Each session culminates in public performances of classical vocal music. Our Summer Session is a 3-week long intensive program meets 5 days a week for those 3 weeks. This program is designed for intermediate to advanced level students. In all of our programs we provide vocal coaching, drama, and performance experiences. We also sponsor concerts, and recitals throughout the year to give singers more opportunity to perform and practice those skills necessary to the performing arts.
