Artist description
Tactic is a relatively new band, formed during the first few months of 2002 and based in Orange County, California. Brandon (22): guitar/vocals, Doug (23): guitar, and Josh (23): bass, met in high school and moved south from the Central Coast with hopes of turning the band from hobby into vocation. After searching for a drummer for several months, Tactic was complete when they added Jud (22): drums, an Orange County native.
After only a few months of rehearsals together, a rough demo of several Tactic songs caught the ear of producer/engineer Dusk Bennett, whose engineering credits include major label acts Incubus and Fiona Apple. Unwilling to sit around waiting for a record deal and unafraid to roll up their sleeves and take a chance, Tactic spent the next 8 months writing songs, testing them on live audiences and undergoing pre-production with Dusk for their debut album.
Tactic hit the studio in January of 2003, joining Dusk at Stigmata Recorders in Los Angeles to record the band’s first full-length album. The end result is an 11 song CD titled, Left Standing, which the band plans to release in November.
While Tactic enjoys the challenges of studio work, the band admits that they are eager to shift their focus back to performing live to promote their album. Taking their “forget the record labels” mentality to the streets, Tactic is fine tuning their live show and gearing up for a guerilla marketing campaign to introduce Left Standing to the public.

Press Reviews
Tactic-Left Standing
Tactic has officially blown my mind. Where else can you get such a modern melodic blend of hip hop infused rock with such a positive spiritual undertone? These guys have a no holds barred way of letting you know who they represent and just why there is room for Christian Rock in mainstream music today.
Until recently there hasn’t been many Christian bands that have stood out and received the recognition that they deserve. Bands like POD and MXPX were groundbreakers in letting people know that Christian rock was not to be ignored. Tactic follows closely to these same principles. The album’s tone and hard core approach take on new meaning as you listen closely to the lyrics and are reminded that these four insanely handsome guys are singing for a higher purpose.
Brandon Gardner, on lead vocals takes you on a spiritual journey with his rap/ rock lyrics. Songs like “Stand Corrected” and "Batting .000" are major strong points on this album. Tackling issues like faith, love and self doubt all in a metaphorically poetic manner, Tactic reminds me in some ways of Linkin Park with a conscience mixed in with a bit of POD’s powerfulness. Of course the guys also bring to the table a style that is uniquely theirs. These guys are the real deal and have an awesome chance of making it in the mainstream. Even if kept secret, it will for sure be one of the better kept secrets around. These guys are definitely worth giving a listen to.
