Artist History
One of the greatest Brutal Death Metal band from Brazil, Scorner was formed in the year of 1993, with the objective of doing a very technical sound into Death Metal, having as influences the great bands from that time. After many shows, the band started to gain a very strong name on brazillian south underground, being very appreciated for the fans of the stile.
In 02/1995, Scorner released their first demo tape, titled Majesty, with 3 tracks of the most pure and powerful Death Metal. This release turns their name each time more great and stronger into the scene. But after the releasing of the demo tape the line up from Scorner started to have some changes and becomes very unstable, and this makes the band stopped for all the year of 98 and part of 99. At this time the band musical directives had a drastic change: they transmuted their technical Death Metal (that didn’t satisfy anymore the band members) into a faster and extreme Death Metal. This change made Scorner starts to compose new material in the new vein and to think in recording it.
With the new musical approach, they release a split CD called "In Inferioribus Terrae", with the Black Metal band Insane Devotion. The four musics from Scorner shows a very brutal and fast Death Metal, showing their own identity in the musics and with very polemic lyrics, telling anti christians messages and showing a very critical view about the world.
With the band’s line up established, a lot of shows done and a lot of more to do, Scorner is fast becoming one of the spearheads of brazillian Brutal Death Metal. |
