Artist History
Born in 1969, he at first studies classical guitar with Roberto Lambo (Conservatorio “N.Piccinni”) in Bari, then focuses his attention on latin and brasilian music.
In the early 90’s he begins to sudy jazz and blues music by using a fingerstyle technique on nylon strings guitar. He gets some influences hearing the great american guitarists (from Chet Atkins to Tuck Andress) but also italian musicians like Franco Morone, Pietro Nobile and Walter Lupi. Since 1993, he partecipates to every international Convention of Atkins Dadi guitar Player Association (ADGPA) and just in one of those meetings (Soave, Verona 1996) Marcel Dadi calls him on the stage during his evening final concert to play “One for Marcel” a Superpicking copositon dedicated to the great french master. After this incredible “first time” with the is of fingerstyle guitar (he shared the stage with Ed Gerhard, Paolo Giordano etc) Paolo played for important music shows like the “Festa della Musica” (1997) “Ode al Mare” (1998) and “Artistika’98”. His “Maracustico” concert in Bari had fine comments by specialized press. In 2000 he played in Venice during the carnival shows. In many places he shared the stage with people like Tim Sparks and Muriel Anderson, making opening acts for Don Ross and Will Ackerman (2002).
In 2001 the Vitaminic.it site has shown several times his guitar pieces to be at the first three positions of the special top ten for acoustic music section (more than one thousand artists); he is author of a complete method for fingerstyle guitar available soon on line on www.paolosereno.com and writes articles for Chitarre, Guitar Club and other music magazines.
Called by Marcel Dadi “the hope of ADGPA” and “a talented guitarist” by Franco morone, Paolo now lives and works for the local University in Parma, in the north of Italy, alternating teaching activity with concerts and, a few times in spring, a “fingerstyle busker” practice…
