    Artist History
Mystic Vibrations has deep roots in Jamaica. When Ras Ric, lead singer and guitarist, was three years old, his father made him a guitar out of a bamboo joint. Later he learned to make his own guitar from sardine cans and fishing line. At the age of 16, Ric joined his first band,"Sonny Mug Head and The Pagaragers". The band's lead Singer was Sonny Brooks, a tailor and bamboo Saxophonist. Other members included bassman Audley "Stash" Grant and "goat skin" drummer, Sassa. Ric played with the band for a few years, playing at local parish festival competitions and clubs in and around Little London, Westmoreland Jamaica. Things moved into a higher gear, when Ric along with his partners Stash and Sassa formed "The Londonians". Sassa was replaced by drummer, Paul Francis, while Stash moved to Rhythm Guitar, making way for a new bass player, Hammer. Hammer was later replaced by Lyndel "Thomas" Allen, while new members were added in the forms of Percussionist, Ralston "Rufus" Lawrence, Vocalists Denver "Copter" Drummond and Sidroy "Siddy" Tomlinson, and Keyboardist Patrick "Profile" Murray who was later replaced by Dave "Cookoo" Anglin. After a few years of playing at local and surrounding school concerts, the band journeyed to Kingston to back Gilbert "Sputnick" Kerr for their first studio recordings of two songs, written by Gilbert Kerr and arranged by Ric and the "Londonians". The first, "Pretty Little Beverly" was led by Gilbert Kerr and "People get Ready" was led by Ric. During this time, "Sputnick" won money through horse racing and invested it in studio time at Channel One Studio in Kingston. In those times, the band had to leave from Little London and travel one day to Mountpeliar, near Monte-go-bay, in order to catch the train from here to Kingston the next day. Once in Mountpeliar, the members stayed overnight with some of Sputnick's relatives. The next morning, they woke early and jumped on a passing truck to catch the train from Mountpeliar to Kingston. They arrived at the studio just in time for the recording. Sometime afterward, Sputnick was falsely accused for a crime and imprisoned. Consequently, the recording project fell apart after selling a few hundred copies of "Pretty Little Beverly". Much was happening at this time. Bob was breaking numerous international barriers with Reggae music and tourists were flooding the coastal areas of Jamaica. This provided a lot of work for the "Londonians" in the Hotels of Negril. Here they backed many acts from national recording artists and other local bands to dancers, contortionist and fire-eaters. Ric along with long time brothers Lyndel, Paul and Patrick, left Jamaica to tour with "The Itals" in 1989. The tour started in the USA and ended in Europe. The days Ric spent traveling with the Itals lasted from'89 to'92. It was while on tour Ric met Evone Clark from Columbia, SC and eventually made this area his home. Once settled in Columbia, Ric joined a local Reggae band called, "Judgenot". The union with this group was brief because members were moving on to other groups. Due to the love of music and the need for stability, Ric decided to put together a stronger band. Mystic Vibrations was born in 1993 with original members, Raheem (bass), Ras B(drums), Yekeem (keyboard), Moses (rhythm guitar), Ras Ric (vocals and lead guitar) and Adama (female vocalist), and Evone Manager. A few changes have taken place over the years. Lacomas "Strap" Chapman replaced Ras B on drums, and was later replaced by Andrew Whittaker. Strap came back to the band, after Andrew left for school in 1999. Coolie G was back with the crew after the departure of Ras L and Raheem. Coolie G had been in and out, of the band a couple of times in the past. He replaced Ras L on keys, while Moses replaced Raheem on bass. Moses later lend his Position to, Bobby Guider Jr. Bobby played with us for a year, before Moses came back to reclaim his position. Our most recent adventure, is a first in the history of Mystic Vibrations, that a female musician has played with us. Janae Davis has replaced "Strap" on drums,Strap took a shortbreak, but has returned in full force. There is also another female, that is responsible for a lot of our history making, and she is Natalie Baxter. Natalie books for the band, but is not just chained to the title "Agent". Musicians come and go, but the band has managed to continue fulfilling its engagements up and down the east coast for 9 years. We backed Ronnie Davis from "The Itals" on two US tours, shared the same stage with Wailers, Third World, Isreal Vibration, Inner Circle, Burning Spear, Sizzla, Yellow Man, Jah Works, and have entertained thousands at frat parties, festivals, weddings, clubs, theaters, etc. The band has recorded two albums and are now working on a third. The struggle goes on but most of all the team is livicated to Rastafari's call.
    Group Members
Lead Vocals and Guitar: Ras Ric is the group's front man and guitarist. Hailed from Jamaica the land where Reggae beats with the pulse of steel. Bass: Moses, Just like it is stated in the word, Moses led the children across the Red Sea, so has it been in this day and time, the only difference is that it is not with a rod, it is with the bass. Moses was born in Columbia, South Carolina and play Reggae as with the touch of the real roots player, "Family man Barrett" of the Wailers. Keys and Vocals: Sister Janae is holding down a tight skank and bubble stylee, she adds a nice spice to the musical stew. Winston Salem is home for Sister Janae, but her heart beats with a solid pulse for reggae, her exposure to the art form of music dates back to her childhood, when she ask her Mom to sign her up for Piano lessons, then later played flute in her high school band. Reggae has always been her favorite musical genre. Drums: Matthew " Matt" Flemming, is from Columbia South Carolina, but his drumming is international and true to reggae, he is one of the hardest hitting drummers around. Matthew has been playing as long as he can remember. He brings that tight and solid groove that brings the sound togather and make the team complete.
