Artist History
Luis del Villar is a piano performance student at the University of Texas at El Paso. He played in yearly classical recitals since the age of six and has collaborated with numerous local folk and pop musicians.
Mr. del Villar began his musical education at the age of six, under the tutorial of Maestro Fernando Hernández (a student of Claude Hernon), with whom he continued to study until he was 22, when Maestro Hernández sadly lost his battle to cancer.
However del Villar managed to obtain the necessary instruction from the Maestro to enter the piano performance program at UTEP, where he now studies under Doctor Dena Kay Jones (student of Nohema Fernández).
Recently del Villar balances his time between school, live performances, and composition. One of his most recent compositions Canción de Cuna #1 en Do Mayor was debuted at the Women’s Club of El Paso where he was invited to play.
