Artist History Delbert Farley was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. He start playing piano at an early age with taking piano lessons when he was 9 years old. But because he didn't like practicing the piano very much at all and constantly asked his mom if he could quit, she finally let him quit piano at age 12. That is when his real love and passion for the piano began. He didn't like to play what others told him to play. He loved the freedom of being able to play whatever he was interested in and found fun and relaxation in it. He had a good foundation of learning from his 3 years of piano lessons and continued to build on that in his own pursuit on the piano. He was asked to play the piano occasionally in Jazz band in high school and often was called on to play the piano in church. When he was 15 years old, he sat down at the piano and tried to hammer out a tune that he had in his head. Through much patience and hard work, this tune turned out to be his first song, "The River," and that started his interest in piano composing and got the ball rolling. Piano composing has been something he has enjoyed to do in his spare time as a break from the stresses of the world. He has enjoyed playing his songs for family and friends. His real goal and motivation behind his composing and performing is to make people happy and to inspire them. Piano is one thing that has always brightened up Delbert's day and has been therapeutic for him. It brings a smile to his face and a feeling of peace and comfort comes over him. He wishes to share these feelings and enjoyment with everyone. The last year or 2 he has especially focused on making this dream come true and developing as a better composer and pianist. He is now actively pursuing this aspect of his life and finally decided to record his songs and start to market and distribute his music across the globe with his music all across the US and Taiwan. Delbert is inspired by his relationships with close friends and family members and by life's events. Most importantly, he is inspired by God, who has blessed him with this talent and has opened so many doors for him already.
