Artist description
CJ Shadow has been producing Old Skool Jungle anthems since 1994. His music is fast, heavy, dark, and designed for the dancefloor. His roots lie firmly in Jungle, as it emerged from the UK Hardcore/Rave scene. Despite his Breakbeat tendancies, he likes most sorts of music and draws influences from them all. There is a distinct Hardcore Techno flavour about some of his tunes. The music published here is a personal transcript of the UK Rave scene, during the 'honeymoon period' of 1992-1996, and has been re-recorded and remastered for you lucky people...

Artist History
1984...learned to play piano, electronic organ, early samplers and drum-machines. 1988...started writing tunes on early tracker programs on the Amiga1200. 1989...got MIDI'd up with synthesizer and electric piano, started production of rave/techno tunes as 'Soundwave Incorporated'.1990...Produced over 300 tunes and mixes, remixes and experiments as 'CJ Hedhype'. 1991...Hooked up with CJ Trinity to create 'Quadrosonix Productions Incorporated', later shortened to 'Q-P-I Music'. Produced ten albums of music ranging from Acid House to Jungle Techno. 1992...Produced more albums both alone and with partner in crime, CJ Trinity. 1993...CJ Trinity did more solo work and moved into ambient, trance and house styles. CJ Hedhype took on a harder, more underground feel. More albums produced. 1994...More solo projects, a couple of remix albums and a slight malaise sets in - one that was felt across the whole rave scene - which suddenly tapered off at the end of the year to the emergence of the Junglist Drum&Bass Movement. 1995...CJ Hedhype becomes 'CJ Shadow'. CJ Trinity moves off to do his ambient project, producing a fine example of the genre in album form, his first real solo album. 1996...CJ Shadow produces four killer Jungle Techno albums, gaining the respect and admiration of his peers and a confidence never felt before. Dark plots begin to unhatch in the mind of the artist, as Drum&Bass begins to take hold. 1997...Produced 'The Hard Nut EP', a blood-clad Jungle Techno feast for the real headz. Mayhem ensues as those who cannot understand depart, and those who love it stand firm to embrace what is to come. 1998...Got a PC, began to lose it, begged for forgiveness from my Amiga, lost patience, lost sleep, lost girlfriend and flat, furniture, savings, self-worth etc etc. 1999...Upgraded to a full-on bedroom studio, produced as 'D'Arjay/Fragrant'. Formed 'Headlong Recordings', produced two CD albums, 'Millenium Rising' and 'New Beginnings'. Began internet promotion. 2000...Marketed CD at peoplesound.com, 'D'Arjay/Fragrant'. Remastered 'The Hard Nut EP' and recorded to CD. Continued to upgrade as much as possible to push the sound to the limit. Launched web site 'MORPHOLOGY' at MP3.com to publish the music. 2001...Uploaded 3 CD albums to mp3.com/MORPHOLOGY. Remastered Old Skool work produced under the 'CJ Shadow' alias. Began planning virtual label 'Unborn Records'. 2002...Published to more CD albums at mp3.com/MORPHOLOGY, set up Headlong Recordings web site at MP3.com, launched 'Unborn Records' web site at Ampcast.com, released more remastered Old Skool tunes. Hooked up with old partner in crime CJ Trinity in the summer, set up 'CJ Trinity' web site at mp3.com, uploaded his music to the Unborn Records site.
