Artist History Gordon and Big Dave 2 were originally in the Playboy Superheroes, however when they were included at the end of Goldfinger's live album doing a cover of "Question", the fame went to their heads. They battled drug addiction and Cleptomania and finally split up. Gordon and Big Dave2 then recruited a guitarist (Big Dave) and a "drummer" (Sean). The rest, as they say, is geography.

Press Reviews From "Pertshire Advertiser, "Music Scene" section, Tuesday 17th December. No frills package, but good sounds and the right amount of info from Perth punk outfit 62nd Tryout. The band has risen from the ashes of the relatively short lived Playboy Superheroes but has retained the pop/ska punk vibe from the original line up. The demo is a mixed mode CD-which basically means that the first track is a CD-Rom track that features a smart multimedia info section plus four audio tracks. Its a nice touch and well put together-the only drawback from this approach on a demo is that the first track(the CD-rom bit) either doesnt make any noise at all from its audio CD player (in which case some folks might think its a duff CD), or it blasts a series of high pitched buzzes and squeaks through your hi-fi and knackers the speakers. A more descriptive 'warning' on the package would help avoid confusion-an alternative method is to make the CDs enhanced CD-rom bit 'invisible' to audio CD players. Anyway, technology lecture over-back to the music. Basketball shoes and summer nights is a well played opening track with solid crashing drums and well above average harmonies that hints at a stronger songwriting effort than before. The jaunty ska'd up second track She Looks (just like heaven) is a catchy number and despite a couple of tentative vocal moments is our favourite. Next up, Something Special, sounds familiar-probably because it was one of our favourite tracks froma past superheroes demo and it still happily stands up as a good strong track. At just under three minutes, these tracks are short, sharp and to the point-the way good punk driven stuff should be. The minute long last track is more of a novelty track dedicated the bands skankin pal Loryn. All tracks were recorded at home on fairly basic computer set up and the resulting sound quality is excellent, especially considering the restrictions of recording in a domestic setting. We've heard on the grapevine that these guys are playing Perths Curly Lloyds nightclub on Boxing Day-you can also check out their website at www.62ndtryout.co.uk.
