Artist description
I've been thrilled because this material has been very well received in a number of areas. Robert Silverstein at MWE.com commented:
"... Got the Lions CD and I really enjoy it. It's kind of out there. Sort of Art Of Noise meets so...mething (it's late!)... and are there any other titles you've released."
Rhonda Kelley at Rainmaker Publicity very kindly said:
"...Thanks so much for sending me this cd, do you have any idea how good & original this is? This is, seriously one of the most creative cd's I have heard in a long time..."
Derek Frederickson at Twisted Tracks commented: "...you've got depth to your arrangements and great production."
Better than a lot of recent major releases from UK acts... it's so awash in precise melodies and experimental flourishes that work, it reminded me of The Art of Noise in their mid-'80s peak...
Lions sports ambience and charm and absolutely knocks one out of the park with an unusual, infectious rendering of "Everybody's Talkin," from Midnight Cowboy. Rodd Lott: Hitch Magazine
This is the first album of the 'Simon Wolfe' project, but it has comprised material which has sort of metamorphosised and has evolved over a number of years. I have only just made the material available on CD and on music sites where I have uploaded the material.
Below is an extract of our artist biography and description, which appears on music sites where we have uploaded material and also an introduction to our project, including album graphics and weblinks:
Suggested featured tracks are 'Gonefar', 'Dreamtime' 'Messenger' and 'Getting in the Way' .
'...out there.........'
'Art of Noise meets ... so..mething... its late'
'...and the pieces themselves have also developed organically...'
'...esotheric electronic...'
Paying homage to, and feeding off, the greats of
cinematic-scale music, from John Barry and Pink Floyd to
Hans Zimmer and The Chemical Brothers, Simon Wolfe
creates music to sink into, giving an 'out there...
somewhere' feeling - a little more depth...a little more fire!
'This is music to sink into, not to bop to. If you
want an emotional roller-coaster ride, then hang on
?cause the spacious isolation of 'Quest' will soothe
you, the heartache of 'And she smiled' will move you
and the sheer unadulterated pounding force of
'Atlantic Breaker' will drive you crazy!' |
