Artist description
Regular Gonzalez, founded in October 2002, is a solo musical venture embarked upon by Oakland, California based multi-instrumentalist Victor Andersen. Seeking an outlet for the more personal and/or unconventional songs he had written over the previous four years, he chose the name Regular Gonzalez and began recording in his home studio. Unlike previous bands or musical collaborations, Victor maintains complete control over the music, playing all the instruments himself and in most cases doing all the recording/mixing on his personal computer. Both a testament to the power of a singular vision and the remarkable capabilities of modern music software, Regular Gonzalez is the epitome of independent music production. Blending intimate folk rock with a very modern songwriting style and experimental/electronic influences, Regular Gonzalez is in some ways a perfect musical icon for this new millenium with an identity crisis. |
