Holden If you have never been to the Nines in Ithaca, it is a relatively small venue with an unusual stage setup with mostly seated space on the floor. If you have never been to a One Minute More show, then you need to go, no run, to the next one that happens anywhere. This 4-peice original band uses energetic ryhthms with flavorful fills and stops , combined with an explosive stage presence. The band has a massive sound attack without the overly distorted guitar used by 90% of popular live bands. Well timed solos from lead guitarist Phil McGovern complemented his exquisite guitar tones and overall sound. Lead vocalist and guitarist Nate Rogers traded vocals with bassist Lee Hansen fluidly and smoothly. The most impressive local live band that I have seen in some time, O.M.More had the bar packed to full capacity by the middle of their set. Their songs are built on guitar rhythms and solid drum beats, with very in depth song writing skills. Drummer Luke Bernthon was extraordinary, throwing in complex beats, unexpected wood block fills, and heavy hi-hat work. One could distinctly hear both guitars, bass, and drums apart from each other, with clean vocal melodies and harmonies. The bands's apprearance set them apart as well, as they were without the piercings and tattoos that so many musicians adorn themselves with these days. One Minute More has just released their debut CD Entitled "The Chase Begins", which is definitely a CD worth purchasing.
