Artist description
My name is Marc Supsic, and I'm a 30 year-old native of the suburban Philadelphia town of Flourtown, PA.
As a musician, I'm self-taught. I can play quite a few instruments, but don't claim to be a master of any single one. Like most people, I listen to many different types of music; but what I feel makes me different is that I never strive to sound like what I listen to. Instead, I simply let what I write come from within. Fortunately, in the end it comes out sounding like me.
While not perfect, I feel I have a unique style and voice. I never had vocal training, so my voice is a bit gravely and uncontrolled (think Tom Waits meets Elvis Costello). To me, it is a texture that I feel fits well over top of my layered, melodic, acoustic-influenced rock (think of Phil Spector and the Beatles).
After years of compromising with other musicians, I decided to try writing on my own. The albumTwo Sides is my first singular effort, done in my living room and kitchen over the last two years. |

Artist History
I've played for almost ten years starting in Eighties Hair Metal Bands and eventually working my way into a sucessful local-level band called Jades Parlor.
We recorded quite a few albums, gained lots of experience, airplay and were solicited by a few labels in the mid-nineties. I learned the most about recording,
performing and producing in Jades Parlor. After a few years together, the band broke up and I formed The Rainland, another pop group, marking my first
attempt at recording and producing on my own. Soon after the band's demise, I started recording and writing on my own. The result is my Two Sides album, my most ambitious and successful endeavor to date. |
