Artist History
"An Ever Rounding Circle"
the first demo 1999.
CasketGarden was formed in August, 1998 in Mosonmagyarovar, Hungary. Then the band's line-up stayed only from three members: Peter Musitz-guitar, Attila Cseh-drums, Balazs Toth-lead guitar. We came together becouse we did not found any death metal band in Hungary, who are brutal and melodic at the same time. In our opinion after the At The Gates (our God) and Carcass doesn't exist any really heavy melodic death metal band neither in whole Europe nor in Hungary. So we wanted to make this and we are the only one band in Hungary up till now in this style. After a half year we found our bassist (today is this Gábor Åri, ex-Zombie Holocaust) and vocalist (Istvan Cseh).
With this people began another half year full of rehearsals and some concerts. In the summer’s end in 1999. we recorded our first demo tape called "An Ever Rounding Circle". We made it in a small, digital local studio from a little money during a short time.
On this are 3 songs (An Ever Rounding..., Golgotha, My Light) and an outro (...and the Circle Rounds Further... which is an instrumental reprise of the intro-riff of the title song). The lyrics (in english language) are about the grief, pain, lies, opposites in life. These opposites are surrounding us, like an ever rounding circle. Our band name is about to express these contrasts. These was the first songs of the band.
From this tape we have sold 100 pieces, but we made only 100 pieces also, so you can not order it directly from us anymore.
If you want to buy it than you have to write an order to our distributor and send 4$ + 3$ registered letter postage to the following address:

"…Of Grief"
the second demo 2000.
After 20 concerts and almost a year, we decided to record our new songs in studio in Slovakia. It was Adam’s studio, and the material was mixed by János Pásztor, who wanted to work with, because he had never worked with a „same time brutal, but melodic band†(he said). It was a great appreciation because he is a great musician too, so we did this demo with him, but it is the same cause why the tape’s sound is not the most perfect to us. We can say it’s really heavy but the finest arrangement specialities can not be heard. So it is not the best sound (it was recorded in 3 days, from 25.000 Ft, that means less than 125$ - that’s Hungary) that you ever heard, but I think it does not disturb the entertainment of the tape.
In spite of the sound, we could write better songs on “…Of Grief†as last time. They are more brutal because of the low-tuned guitars, but there are great sorrowful melodies in them too, I think. In our opinion on this tape are the two best songs of CASKETGARDEN: “I Witness†(THE C.G. Song) and “Grotesque Soul Embodiedâ€. With this two songs we appeared on 3 compilations, Nightwalk and Shock comp. in Hungary, and Awaken compilation in Serbia. Our lyrics are speaking about feelings that we feel as we look around, and what we feel as social filth.
With this demo we want to take more concerts also in foreign countries if we can, and find a distribution outside Hungary too.
“…Of Grief†demo can be ordered on our above mentioned address for 4$+2$ postage.
“The Non-Existentâ€
Promo CD 2002.
The year 2001 was a silent year for us. We fired our first bass guitarist (Csaba Szabo) and another man joined CG called Denes Schummel, but he had to leave us in the autumn because of his studies. Our drummer had to joined the army so we could make only 1 concert in the last 9 months. So in this year we made only several gigs in the spring as a quartett. Meanwhile our drummer was soldier we start to write new songs. Fortunately we can make rehearsals with him 2 times in a month. And in december we had a newer bassguitarist, Gabor Åri, who has more experience in death metal as the other former members, and he is a great rock’n’roll face. With him we recorded our new 3 track Promo-CD “The Non Existent†in the end of June 2002.
This CD is only for promotional use, so we don’t want to distribute it, althought it is our best material till now. We recorded it in a quite professional studio with a good sound-engineer Zoltan Cserfalvi in Szolnok, Hungary in 3 days, but we worked on it from dusk till dawn.
The tracklist is the following:
Non-Existent;
The Day When Silence Died;
7th Scar.
The first songs we made with the new-line up. The same path but something more rude, raw, fast, but more melodic also. Catch it! With this material we want to find a label who can support us in our destination to make a really great, intensive and bursting full-lenght…I hope this time we will do it with success.
We got good critics about every demo in the Hungarian Metal Hammer, and in Hungarian fanzines and we are apeared on some compilations[Nightwalk, Shock (H), Awaken(YU), The Better The Harder (USA)]. So we thought we send this new one world-wide to foreign countries' fanzines, and labels, too. We hope there is somebody, who likes our music and can support us to record a full-lenght album or only to make our name a little bit better-known outside Hungary. Maybe You, who read this letter….
