Artist History Subterfuge started in sprit, if nothing else, in the summer of 1996 by Mick Couri. Subterfuge became closer to realization in March of 1997 with the addition of Bill Rudloff on drums. Also in 1997 Subterfuge compiled their first demo in which no songs survived. The next few years brought a few keyboardists and more than ten guitarists including Alex Willard, Tom Mocilan(co-wrote Wasted Breath), and Derrick Kolb. Mick and Alex were the chief songwriters early on creating Ashes To Ashes, Five Minutes Lost, Gone(Leaving), and Nothing To Hold Me, all of which are still being played today. In November of 2002 the addition of yet another guitarist, Dave Moses, brought back the motivation to gig and record on a more frequent basis.
