Artist History
Searching for Silence formed shortly after the break up of the hardcore/metal band Curbkick (a band that shared stages with hardcore legends such as Diecast, 25 ‘ta Life, and Indecision.) Guitarist Brendan Donahue began writing songs with a more melodic approach at heavy music and acquired former band mates, singer Jaime Furtado, and drummer Tony Sestito to join his project. Lead guitarist Maldi Kellici introduced himself to Brendan after moving to the United States from Albania. Maldi and his family had come to Boston to help his career as a guitar player by studying at Berklee College of Music, where he attends today. Maldi’s extremely talented guitar playing was a great match to the new melodic rhythm, and pointed the Searching for Silence sound in a new unexpected direction. The band was complete with the addition of bassist Chris Donoghue in the spring of 2001. With Jaime having traded most of his screaming for singing, and Maldi entertaining people not only with his overwhelming talent on guitar, but also with his lack in understanding of the English language and the American culture, Searching for Silence is pushing towards the front line of the new band scene with their own brand of melodic rock. The band released their four song demo CD in the fall of 2002. |

Press Reviews
I feel their heart and soul coming through in Search For Silence’s four-song CD - and I appreciate
that ardency. However, Search For Silence needs some honing before they move up to the
next level in their progress. Though the passion is there, the lead vocals need work as they tilt
to the flat side. The songs, which fall into the modern rock vein, show promise so with the strong
musicianship (excellent guitar!) and this sincere drive, the band just needs some tightening up,
some solid hooks in the tunes, and a better recording sound - with that, I foresee a stronger
return for Searching For Silence. Best track: “My Reflection.”
