Press Reviews
Newly formed, newly discovered band vying for the title of "Cute New-Wave Indiepop Darlings of 2002." Kanda couldn't possibly be more qualified for such an award. Theirs is a new wave style not seen since Godzuki, and this little record's filling a void in my heart. The A-side, "v.p.l." is a fast-paced little dance number with clean synths, girl vocals, and charm in spades. The B-side, "Champions on Ice" is a slower numbe with boy vocals, New Order-ish guitars, and it sounds not unlike their labelmates Steward. A very, very lovely little treat; here's hoping these kids will put out a full length soon! -- http://www.mundanesounds.com/singles_bar/02-04.html
