Artist History After being in several local acts in Lowell as a drummer or bassist, Rob Blatt decided to form his own band. Blatt is the New Black is the result of that, relying heavily on the fact that he had friends who played instruments, he asked roomate Jason Arsenault to play guitar and long time friend and local drummer Matthew Mittelstadt. With a show planned before their first practice, the band had some living up to do, especially with it's members who are in or were in local bands like Center of the Earth, Seventh Ring, Will Brierly and the Roller Holsters, and Harris.
