Artist description
Arnie Sykes is a rapper, actor, comedian, and artist. He used his vast knowledge of all things television and the omni-flavored sauce that is Pop Culture to create "The Original Pranksta Rapper" - Arnie Sykes. His debut album, TV Junkie, released in 2002, is the fusion of his love for comedy and his roots in R&B, rap, and hip-hop. The CD is not novelty, however. While it has funny, clever lyrics you hardly hear in most rap songs, the styles, elements, and deliverance of the content and its music are very true to the hip-hop genre. |

Artist History
Born and raised in Greensboro, North Carolina, Arnie Sykes grew up writing, drawing, and watching television. He graduated from a prestigious Southeastern university, where he was first exposed to improvisational comedy, a skill he quickly mastered and continues to hone in Austin, Texas. Arnie Sykes has performed locally with fellow musicians and improv comedians Jerm Pollet ("Every Song is a Mating Call") and Owen Egerton ("Big Thick Wooden Board"). Discussions with musician/producer Huey Esquire, slated to produce Egerton's follow up record, lead Arnie Sykes and Huey Esquire to the collaboration that resulted in the debut album. |

Press Reviews
"TV Junkie is a light witty layed back album with some really funky beats and with Arnie`s sometimes off the wall comedy rap style makes for a good debut album and what is more a good launch for future projects and releases... there is something about it that makes me keep listening to it."
