Artist History
Mr. Walters, has begun to emerge as a classical artist this year, having studied voice for more than 5 years, with such teachers as Elizabeth Moore, David Peck and recently William Eddy. In September he was acclaimed for his comedic performance in Kitsap Opera's "The Magic Flute", and was one of three singers to perform song sets in Art song recitals presented by VocalArts Northwest in May and June.
As well as participating in other Art Song recitals, James has sung Monsieur Vogelsang from "The Impresario", Arturo from "Lucia di Lammermoor", Tony from "Most Happy Fella", and Bartolo in "The Mariage of Figaro", all while enrolled in VocalArts Northwest summer intensives.
While studying at Rick's college in Idaho, James participated in numerous staged opera scenes, singing Manrico in "Il Trovatore", Alfred in "Die Fledermaus", Monostatos in "The Magic Flute", and Frank in "Die Fledermaus". He also had the opportunity to assistant direct a production of Sour Angelica in 1995. While he served as Rick's College Opera Club President he auditioned singers, and programed various concerts for the club.
He is also an accomplished artist, and designs programs, posters, and CD covers for various individuals and orginizations, including VocalArts Northwest |
