How ~Flatline~ came to be.
Flatline was started by Jason and Tim in the summer of 2001 in North Hollywood, CA. Jason answered an ad for a band forming and needing a singer. When Tim heard that Jason played guitar, and then heard his style, he replaced the original guitarist. The guys played as a duo for a while when they were looking for a bassist, at which time they wrote a few songs and cut the first demo, Salt the Wound. Finally, after trying out a few bass players, they decided to go with an old friend of Tim’s. Adam was announced as the low end in January, 2002. That is when the songs that would become the, Redefining the end, CD were written. The band went in to record the Redefining CD in January of this year. When they were almost done with it, they decided to add another guitar to the mix. Basically, they wanted to find someone who could play like, Dime, from Pantera. That’s when the guys found Jeremy. Jeremy has added a lot to the creativity of the band, bringing a whole new design to the table. The guys have just finished the CD, and are working on getting it heard! With a killer live show, pummeling riffs, and shredding leads, this is a band to see. With new songs like, Bloodlet, and, Disrupted, the next generation of Flatline songs are sure to keep your head banging.
Who we were most influenced by.
Jason - Of course Pantera, Sepultura, and Chuck Billy of Testament. But overall, it would have to be my parents, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and Rush. Tim - Pantera, Slayer, Metallica….oh yea… my friends I guess. Adam - Mike Patton and Trevor Dunn of Mr. Bungle. Jeremy - Zack Wylde and Dimebag Darrel
Our motivation as a band.
We are a band motivated by our desire to be the best of the next generation of modern metal. With the copycat bands out there in the last ten years, its time to show them what metal is all about, break it down to the basics, and kick a little ass for the people. We are here to shred for the fans.
Favorite Foods.
Jason - Mexican! Especially Gilbert’s in Santa Monica….AND JAGERMEISTER!!! Tim - Enchilaaadaaaa and carne asssaaaaadddaaaaaaa!! Adam - Frito pie with my home made chile. Jeremy - Gourmet anything, but Fois Gras is the favorite. And Heineken!
Official ~Flatline~ beverages.
Surfer on Acid (a ~Flatline~ party favorite), Jagermeister (an ingredient for the surfer), Corona’s, and Heineken
What is the overall goal of this band?
We plan on taking over the world. We want to be that band you looked up to when you first picked up a guitar, microphone or set of drumsticks. Music is all about painting a picture that you connot see. Some people’s minds are too closed for the picture to be seen. We want to open their eyes so they can see how real this style of music is and what the future brings for it.
