Artist description
Cillico is a unique blend of alternative-world-funk-rock fused with passionate lyrics and catchy melodies. Their eccentric sound grew out of members backgrounds. Cillico's singer & songwriter, Cathy, grew up along the Mississippi River while guitarist, Andre, was raised between Amsterdam, Aruba and Columbia. Growing up as friends, bassist, Brad, and drummer, Matt, grew out of the Boston music scene and fled West to California where they met the other half of Cillico. One could say the music is a mixture of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bob Marley, No Doubt, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Lorenna McKennit. All of which are known for their own unique sound. |

The Hardest Working Self Promoting Local Artist/Bands
By Chris Vex
Since the beginning of time, music was thought of as a powerful force which brought people of different cultures together in harmony. Never before has that been more true than with the members of Cillico: Cathy Immordino, Andre Werleman, Tyler Handke and Carrol Pender.
Cathy Immordino, a performing songwriter since a child, writes about life, love, tragedy and hope in a world which makes her feel alienated and misunderstood. Even though Cathy is a Sicillian-American, her African and Native American tribal callings bring out the hypnotic addiction people feel when they hear her sing. Born in Eden Prairie, Minnesota and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, she combines her charismatic personality and Southern hospitality into her every day performances.
Guitarist Andre Werleman, from Aruba, brings his Middle Eastern and blues influences to the group while evoking Serapes Bay, the Egyptian God of music. Andre says, "What makes my style so unique is the equipment that I have been using, and playing Blade guitars has inspired the voice of the music I perform." Hearing his unique style is worth every penny of the admission cost. So if you want your pennies worth absolutely free, you can come down to the Hazmat stage, 7511 Sunset Blvd, where he will often perform acoustic sets in the promotional window, where he will be using Dava picks, and promoting the band Cillico.
Tyler Handke originated from Des Moines, Iowa and moved to Reno, Nevada, where his street smart Midwestern personality teamed up with Nevada-style entertainment. Tyler fused the funkiest grooves licks into his creativity and passion seen while perform in band.
Cillico's drummer Carrol Pender, raised in the Northeast between New York and Boston, combines all cultures together into one unique world beat. His passion and emotion lies in his music studies in Korean while his heritage draws him to a funky Celtic euphoria. Though a recent edition to Cillico, Carrol has already become part of this multicultural music family.
From the centerfold of Rock City to the cover of the Rock City News paper, Cillico's song "Music of Life" has been chosen for the Rock City Records Compilation #5. The song and titled track "Music of Life" is number 14 on the CD compilation. The release party will be June 16th at Club Lingerie in Hollywood which she will open up for some of the hardest rockers in and around the Entertainment Capitol of the World.
Cathy quotes, "My goal is two years from now to be very well known, and work even harder at getting my voice heard... Since about twelve years old, I have been saving money towards my life as a performing songwriter. I am now twenty one, and I have have a PA system, recording equipment, Motif (keyboard), guitars and percussion equipment and microphones... all the things I have worked hard at to achive and obtain. So now I will focus on building an enormous following and rising up out of the Entertainment Capitol of the World and playing venues in Sin City, and abroad the country to New York City...
I just purchased 500 black Cillico t-shirts, and 1000 Cillico.com stickers to help get the word out about Cillico and what we are all about. Mid-summer, we will be releasing a five song EP called "I Don't Know" CD. Also, we are performing in the Las Vegas International Music Festival in late July, the Los Angeles Internation Music Festival in mid-September, and finally touring our way to New York City for the New York International Music Festival in November, all held by the same organization, and the founder of the New York International Film & Video Festival.
Cillico is now a business that I support, finance, and whole heartedly believe in...
We are looking to bring in team members who can help us aand perfect the quality of our live shows. Cillico Industries is fully up and running, no one, or Industry, will be able to stop us from succeeding. If you would like to join our team and be part of a new successful business, contact me, Cathy, at 213-440-4232 or cillico@aol.com."
Cathy is very young and that's a plus when it comes to touring out. She is one of the hardest working, self promoting loca artist/bands building a business network. She is looking for team members to work with flyers and mailing list. If you like to be around rock stars, music, night clubs, and just the music industry, check out the website cillico.com and join the team! |
