Artist History
RICE was formed early in the cold winter of 1999, by outgoing, outrageous and outspoken front-person VANHORN. Playing weekly and bi-weekly gigs means much of RICE's new material (and believe me, there is always something new) is learned "on-the-fly". This tests the improvisational skills of his cohorts. VANHORN, an improvisational actor himself, bravely soldiers on, refusing to shy away from songs to which he cannot remember the words, and singing whatever seems appropriate (or inappropriate) at the time. |

Press Reviews
The intro No Regrets hints at the kind of quirky power pop that comes from near-carefree songwriting, and the second track, Pants Down, with its dance beat and stand-out baseline, contains a catchy chorus that makes the song highly playable and begs one to, indeed, pull their pants down and skip barefoot through the rain.

I have wanted to write immediately three times since picking up your disc that night! What a cool CD! …on hearing all of your discography, I would be hard pressed to name an absolute favourite. I really dig your lyrics and what you sing about, not to mention, your super cool styles!

It was a pleasure listening to your music and I wish you luck in the future.
