Artist History
Founded in Sept. 1989 as “Los Electronicos” by Juan Batista, the group began playing local clubs in the Corona, Queens area. Original Members were Juan (Rhythm “Segundo” Guitar), Jaime Diaz (Lead Vocal/Bassist), Domingo “Mingo” Rosario (Lead “Primera” Guitar), Pedro Ortiz (Guirra), and Jimmy Fontanez (Percussion). Being that these gentlemen come from several different generations, their musical perspectives and influences are as wide as the ocean that separates them from their homeland in the Dominican Republic.
Over the years, the band took on several new members, as others left. Currently only 2 of the original 5 (Jaime and Mingo) remain. After renaming the band "Los Hermanos Del Ritmo" (The Rhythm Brothers) in 1995, they began playing as a duet, but the sound is a hot as ever. With different guest percussionists and Rhythm Players, when at a show with these 2 Talented Artists, you never know who will drop by and join the mix. The result is an ever changing but always exciting musical trip.
