Artist History
In the summer of 1999 we recorded a 2 song demo which caught the attention of the Rough Trade shop who agreed to put it out on their own label - For Us. This became our first single Get Rid of Him / Turning Left, released in October 1999.
Around the same time, we made our live debut, at The Betsey Trotwood in Farringdon, supporting Comet Gain.
Over the last few years we have played a number of gigs across the UK (from Brighton to Glasgow), supporting various bands (Birdie, Beachwood Sparks, Ladybug Transistor, Saloon, Tompaulin, The Tyde, to mention a few). In February 2002, we embarked on our first full UK tour with Canadian band Ashley Park.
We have received radio airplay for all our single releases so far, mainly through John Peel & Steve Lamacq on Radio 1, John Kennedy on XFM, and numerous other stations across Europe, America & Japan. In July 2002, we were interviewed by Jayne Middlemas for BBC 6music.
A compilation CD of our first 5 seven inch singles entitled fivefortyfives will be released in September 2002.
