Artist History
This Los Angeles-based foursome is known for its crooning lyrics and
romantic three-part harmonies. Composed of vocalist/guitarist David Fisher
, guitarist Scott Minchk, bassist JB Burton and drummer Greg Sobol, Big Blue Hearts' sound
is deeply rooted in traditional rock 'n' roll.
Big Blue Hearts released its first critically-acclaimed album in the summer of 1998 on Geffen Records. The band was signed by the then-head of A&R, Roberta Peterson, after seeing them perform a live show. The band toured extensively throughout the United States and Europe.
After a three-year hiatus Big Blue Hearts has re-formed. They are playing out in the Los Angeles area, and will be performing old favorites and plenty of new material that is sure to capture hearts.

Press Reviews
Big Blue Hearts have made a
startlingly captivating record on
which guitars ring
out and intertwine soul-searching,
harmony-laden vocals.
With it’s high-lonesome sounds
of all-American heartache.

Billboard Magazine
If hearing their music won me over,
watching their live performance made
me a fan.
Defining star quality always proves
elusive, but, though it varies from person
to person, lead vocalist David Fisher has it.

You’ll hear shards of Roy Orbison and Ricky Nelson,
as well as a few other influences. But mainly, this is a
real live band. You gotta believe Roy and Rick are
looking down from heaven, either extremely proud
or else frustrated that they’re not down here drinking
at the party.

David Fisher, the heart of Big Blue Hearts,
posses a sumptuous baritone that recalls the
operatic drama of Roy Orbison and Elvis,
especially in melodic plaints like “Story of My Life”
and “Live Without Your Love”. On the quartet’s
self-titled album, he wraps his perfect croon
around stories of gloomy heart-break brightened
by a silver lining of hope. Rockabilly, vintage rock
and creamy three part harmonies meet in the band’s
exceptional country-shaded pop. With it’s haunting
guitar twang, clingy melodies and timeless tales of
shattered romance, Big Blue Hearts is a red hot debut.

USA Today
Rarely do bands so easily catch the ear of major labels, but Big Blue Hearts’ appealing style made the unknown band almost impossible to ignore.

“I’ve been waiting 25 years for a band like this,
” Petersen says from Los Angeles. “It was a no-braine
r, really. When I saw them I literally did a double-take.
They just had this stunning visual image. Then there
were the songs and they were just so good, one after
another. “You know,” Petersen says, “it’s rare to find
such prolific songwriting and great playing. And that
kid (Fisher) has it all. He’s going to be a genuine star.
-Roberta Petersen
Former head of A&R Geffen Records
Welcome to the world of romantic rock & roll.
In an age of radio format fragmentation and
specialization, it is with open arms and ears
that we herald the arrival of a band whose
appeal should be as broad as its name;
Big Blue Hearts

The crowd at the Mercury Lounge wasn't sure
what to make of Big Blue Hearts when the four
musicians made their New York debut.
Dressed in black suits the musicians looked
slightly nervous, peering at the skeptical crowd.
Then they launched into an opening chord and
played some of the prettiest rock 'n' roll music since
Roy Orbison warbled "Crying." The pierced-tongue
set was intrigued by the band's seamless, romantic
songs, which told vivid tales of elusive love and
redemption. "Who's this?" one trendy asked another,
skimming the list of groups scheduled to play that
night at the Intel Music Festival. "They sound i
ncredible." During the 30-minute performance,
Big Blue Hearts showed why Geffen Records
snapped up the musicians just months after their
first gig ever.
